In recent years, Huai’an has prioritized the automobile and auto parts industry as part of its “7+3” advanced manufacturing clusters and “353” strategic emerging industry clusters. During the 15th Five‑Year Plan period, the city will be focusing on fostering the 100-billion-yuan industrial cluster of automobile and auto parts. BYD Group’s world‑only new‑energy commercial vehicle base is located in Huai’an. It has enjoyed robust production and sales this year, rolling out one vehicle in as little as five minutes. Its current production capacity exceeds 100,000 units, and full‑capacity output will surpass 400,000 units per year.

Shuanghuan Gears manufactures automotive gear products including gear forgings, fine‑pitch gears, spiral bevel gears and high‑precision gear blanks. Its market share of gears for domestic electric passenger vehicles exceeds 50%.

Zenith Steel New Materials has a total investment of 20.2 billion yuan. Its self‑developed ultra‑high‑strength and high‑fatigue‑resistant steel cord products are widely used in high‑end radial tires, aerospace fasteners, deep‑sea oil‑and‑gas cables, and core skeletons for humanoid robots.

In addition, key enterprises such as Hexing Automobile, Datong, Hankook, Gubersail, Leoch Battery and HYLICreate Energy have set up and keep growing in Huai’an.
